Though where you place things on a matrix of "trust" says as much (if not more) about the person/brand creating the matrix as it is on the placement of the brands on the matrix. The thing about brand people: their entire brand is about trust.

Brilliant in terms of wide-scale broad culture. But what about Dark Internet theory? And small / local trust. In terms of entrepreneurship and smaller brands I think word-of-mouth/virality are going to make a big comeback.

Yep. I literally talk in this article about how Emotional Repair is where those underground and off the grid forms of trust like the examples you mention are happening.
